About Me

Dr. Salisu Lawal Halliru is a distinguished academic and climate change researcher at Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano, with expertise in climate change adaptation, migration and mobility, food security, sustainable development, and climate policy. His work focuses on understanding the impacts of climate variability and developing practical adaptation and resilience strategies for vulnerable communities. He has contributed significantly to climate science and policy in Nigeria and internationally, including serving as one of Nigeria’s representatives to the Seventh Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and as a Coordinating Lead Author for Working Group II, Chapter 20 (AR7). His leadership, research, and academic contributions position him as a strong advocate for evidence-based climate action and sustainable development.
